What is Participatory Budgeting?
Participatory Budgeting (PB) is a democratic process in which community members directly decide how to spend part of a public budget. In other words, the people who pay taxes (all of us) decide how tax dollars get spent. The process involves:
- Development of project proposals
- Selection of winning projects through voting
For 2018-2019, District 10 has $250,000 available for Participatory Budgeting Projects
This Year
STEP 1 - Complete a Project Proposal Application by December 23, 2017
Residents of District 10 are invited to submit a project idea here. We encourage you to work together with other residents to submit ideas as a group.
Community members and residents have been meeting and brainstorming about project ideas. Check them out here for inspiration and potential collaboration!
STEP 2 – Voting
Between April 3– April 17, 2018 voting (online and in-person) will be held for ALL residents of District 10 to decide which projects on the Participatory Budgeting ballot will receive funding.
Who can submit a Proposal?
You must be a resident of District 10 to submit a proposal, and the project must directly benefit District 10.
